Carpet Cleaning Deals And What They Mean For You

carpet 06 Apr 2014

Carpet cleaning deals can mean many things, but usually what they mean for you is taking a bad situation and making it worse. What we mean by this is that you are probably looking at your carpet and thinking, “How did it get this dirty all of a sudden?”

The fact of the matter is that a carpet gets dirty over a period of time and it only takes one final spill of milk or red wine to make the whole carpet look filthy. And while in our minds we are vacuuming and cleaning on a daily basis, the reality may be that the vacuum cleaner itself has dust on it, and even when you take it out in a panic because “company is coming” you really can’t get the dirt out of your carpet once it is so soiled.

The next thing that we all do is look through the flyers that come in the mail for the cheapest carpet cleaning deals. These advertisements look good with phrases like “3 rooms for $30.00”, but what’s the catch? The catch is that someone will show up at your door with some cleaning equipment and a sales pitch. This is because cheap carpet cleaning deals aren’t really cheap at all, but rather more of a scam.

The First Part Of The Carpet Cleaning Deals Scam

The first part of the carpet cleaning deals scam is that that the “carpet cleaning” actually means a “carpet steaming” which doesn’t include the cleaning solvents. The cleaning solvents are extra if you want them. Also, if you want the hallway cleaned, that will add a lot more to the price because it is a high traffic area. However, stain removal is also not included, which will cost more, too. Are you getting the picture?

The Second Part Of the Carpet Cleaning Deals Scam

The second part of the carpet cleaning deals scam is that the carpet cleaner himself is not actually a licensed professional. He is really just a salesman who is hired on commission to sell you as many services and products as possible – once he gets inside your home. So it doesn’t matter if you think you are being a smart consumer and stick with the original steam cleaning for $30. You may think that you will get cleaner carpets from the salesman and remove the stains later yourself, but what you are really getting is someone who is spraying water around on your carpets and then leaving a mess in your home.

The Third Part Of The Carpet Cleaning Deals Scam

The third part of the carpet cleaning deals scam is that if you don’t pay the full price or want to talk to a supervisor, you will have a real mess on your hands. This is because this person, who works on commission, will still want the full price of whatever estimate he is asking for – because this is how he makes a living.

The best thing to do, is when your carpet gets dirty and needs a professional clean, is to go online and hire a professional cleaning company. It will cost a little more, but you will get your carpet cleaned correctly, and it will make the carpets look newer and fresher, like you would want them to.
